A dog saved the life of a sleeping boy with diabetes

Seven year old Luke Nuttall has had type 1 diabetes since he was two years old. The boy’s mother checks the boy’s blood sugar level ten times a day, and adds that the family brought home a special dog that can smell and “understand” that the blood sugar level is rising so they can help the child.

Luke’s mother tells how a dog named Jedi saved the boy’s life one day.

“Jedi laid on top of me and I got up. He was jumping on the bed and on the ground. I got off the bed. After pricking my son’s finger, I found out that the glucose level was 57, and although this indicator is not so much a cause for concern, but anyways the dog prevented further descent,” said Luke’s mother.
